Fished South Sandy Creek today with Rigg, Alex, and Ben. We managed to land three fish and Alex lost a huge steelie that shreaded his 8lb tippet like it was nothing! The fish was in the upper teens approaching 20lbs! The water was dropping with all the runoff iceing up the past two nights since the temps were in the lower teens! The bite was a little slow but we did get one of the fish to chase a spey fly on the swing, which is an aggressive presentation. Here are some pics from Sunday....

Fished with Ben, Alex, and Rigg from Baltimore Maryland on Saturday and did very well. We landed about 7 fish and lost many more. There were lots of fish around and many of them are in full spawn. We are still seeing a mix of fresh chrome fish and drop back fish. Many of the females have already dropped all their eggs and are starting to feed more aggressively. Here are some pics from Saturday...
I had a trip cancellation on Friday so I decided to go scouting some areas of the Salmon River and South Sandy. The water was a little high in the Salmon River at 1800cfs but there were still plenty of fish and I hooked into six and landed three in about two hours. I then made my way north to Ellisburg and hit South Sandy for about an hour and landed two more fish and lost two. The water was dropping and still a little off color but overall was in good shape. Here is a picture of a nice male I landed Friday...

Fished today with Harold Stewart and Brett Connolly from Fort Drum. We had a tough morning at the Sandys without even getting a hit. The bite was just off but we made a move and fished a trib of the Salmon River in the afternoon and did great. We landed six fish and lost many more. Here are some pics from today.
Fished with Patrick and Stan from New Jersey today. We fished Big Stoney Creek and South Sandy Creek today and the bite a little tough again. We landed two small fish on Big Stony and lost a couple more nice fish. On South Sandy we landed two nice Rainbows and lost some other nice fish. Here are a few pics from Saturday.
Fished the Salmon River and Little Sandy Creek today with Sue and John Doran. The Bite was really tough today but we managed to land two fish and hooked a bunch more we just couldn't hold on to. Sue landed the beauty of the day pictured here. We estimated it at around 18lbs!
Fished again today with Leo and Mike from New Hampshire and did well. We landed seven fish and lost many more. We fished the Sandys the second part of the day and it is starting to clear up a bit finally after nearly a week of high muddy water. Here are some pics from today.
Fished with Mike and Leo today from New Hampshire and did very well. We landed 10 fish and lost many more. The main Salmon River has been tough at times since the Steelhead are more focused on spawing than eating eggs and flies. We have been very mobile trying to find the aggressive fish and with the proper presentation it has payed off. Here are some pics from today

Fished the past two days with Padraic and Jeff from Massachussetts. The Salmon River has been steadily rising from all the runoff which has affected the fishing a little. The bite was a bit slow but we managed to land six on Friday and four on Saturday with quite a few more lost. The Sandys are high and muddy along with many of the other tributaries but it will bring in many more fresh fish. Here are some pics from the two days
