February 25th Salmon River Steelhead

Fished with Ken Hubbard on the Salmon River today. The weather report was looking good for this day and I was really looking forward to a nice late winter day of fishing with Ken. That didn't exactly work out the way I planned, the wind was blowing at up to 30mph gusts with blinding snow at times and a frigid wind chill that went right through you. To make things worse the fish were not thinking about eating, can't blame them. We landed two fish and lost four in the am but regrouped, warmed up and bundled up for the afternoon and did a little better landing two more nice fish and had a few more hookups.

February 24 Steelhead and Browns

A cold day on the Salmon River today, with slush ice flowing heavily accompanied by a slow bite in the am. We hooked three fish and landed two in the morning total but the afternoon warmed up a little and the bite really turned on, we landed six more fish with many more hookups.

February 18 Salmon River Steelhead

The weather was beautiful, in the 50s and sunny yesterday on the SR. The fish were biting as well which made for a great day to be on the river. Good mix of browns and steelies and steady action throughout the day. We ended up going 8 for 12 on the day with the biggest fish around 16lbs.
