May 20 -21

Fished with Patrick the past two days, yesterday on fish creek flyfishing with caddis and hopper patterns and had a ball with rainbows, browns, and brook trout. The second day we tried the Salmon River in the morning and we were 1 for 2 and it was quite slow. We decided to go try for some smallmouth bass in South Sandy and did really good on fly poppers. Here is Patrick with a good smallmouth bass. This was probably my last trip for the spring before I leave for Alaska on the 31st of May. I will try to update the site as much as possible while I am there.

My girlfriend and I had an opportunity to stay at the Bragdon House B&B in Geneva. Had an amazing couple of days, went on a wine tour, hiked the glen in Watkins Glen, and boated to the Belhurt Castle for some dinner. It was an amazing couple days and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a couple days in Geneva than the Bragdon House. Thanks again Jen and Garrett for a great time!!

Today was one of the best days all spring. We fished the Upper Fly Zone of the Salmon River and had constant hookups and lost track of fish landed. We estimated around 30 fish landed. The bite was amazing and all month should be more of the same throughout the rest of the Salmon River as these fish still must make their way back to the lake. Here is Carl with a big male steelie!

Another banner day of fishing on the Salmon River landing 14 fish and hookups all day long! We expect the fishing to only get better in the next few weeks as the Steelhead all start dropping back. Here is Lou with a great steelie!
