Early to mid July at the Royal Coachman Lodge
The water is still playing a huge factor in the fishing. It has made fishing kings tough but the trout fishing has been great. We've also been catching some nice char and dolly varden now that the chum spawn is in full swing. Hopefully by the end of this week we'll be catching some fresh silver salmon.

June in Alaska
Good to be back in Alaska! The rainbow trout fishing has been great this spring, record low water has condensed all the salmon fry and smolt on their way back to the ocean and the trout are capitalizing getting fat and happy. The king salmon fishing has been pretty slow overall, nothing like last year. We were getting some nice ones on the lower Nushagak but I somehow didn't manage to get any photos. The biggest fish were topping out at around 30lbs, nothing huge but bright beautiful fish regardless. The chum and sockeye runs have been extremely good and more are on the way, which means more food for rainbows, dollies and char once they start dropping eggs and dying. Its been a great season so far and is only getting better!
