August 2nd Royal Coachman AK
The Kings Salmon Season just ended yesterday and we are catching some Pink and Silver Salmon right in front of the lodge already! The Chum spawn has almost ended and sockeye are starting to drop eggs on certain rivers. Its amazing how fast things change in Alaska. We are also in the midst of an Alaska monsoon season which has been going on now for almost two weeks. One of the rainiest Julys in Alaska history unfortunately. We saved a couple of our boats today on just one of the many flooded rivers in the area and still have more boats to recover. On the bright side the sun was out today and the fishing was great on our local river as one guest landed a 35 inch Lake Trout with an18 inch girth right in front of the lodge(pictured above)! Also pictured is a huge King Salmon that measured out at 45 inches and had a 24 inch girth! On an even brighter side my girlfriend is up visiting for two weeks (pictured above hiking Sadface Mountain with the dogs). Here are some more pics from the last couple weeks...
