End of May fishing

I've been fishing here and there for fun when I get a chance, mostly for smallmouth bass catching. We've been catching lots of them, mostly 1-3 lb fish but have caught some up to 5 lbs on the fly. Today I did some fly fishing for browns and landed a 23 inch beauty on a size 18 dry! This is the last post I'll be doing from New York before I head back to the Royal Coachman Lodge in Alaska!

May Steelhead

I fished Monday, Wednesday, and today on the Salmon River for drop backs. It has still been good and there are plenty of fish still hanging around. Monday was a really good day, wednesday was a little bit slower but we didn't start until about 9am which is after the good bite, and today was the best day all week.

May 5-6th Steelhead Trips

Fished the Salmon River for dropbacks the past two days. Yesterday was a much tougher day with lots of crowds and a tough bite, today was the total opposite. There was hardly anyone around and the fish were biting! Here are some of the pix from the last two days...

May 1-2 Steelhead Trips

The last two days have been great, not just the fishing but the weather as well! We've been catching steelhead in t-shirts and having to apply sunblock, I love it. W've been catching drop backs, some spawners still, and some really nice smallmouth bass mixed in. Here are a some of the pix from the last two days....
