July 16

The past week of King fishing has really turned on. I had two clients with a catch total of 10 kings on the fly on Monday and yesterday I had two clients total over 20 kings landed all on the fly! We start the day warming up catching Chum Salmon and Dolly Varden on dry fly popers and then chase the Kings the rest of the day. Here are some pics from the past few days. Starting at the bottom is a Rainbow caught on a mouse pattern, next is a Dolly Varden, next above is a Dolly caught on a dry fly, next a King caught by Wolfgang from Sweeden, next is a monster his wife Meta landed which was at least 40lbs!, and finally Wolfgang and Meta with a Chum double.

July 9

I've been fishing the upper Holitna River for big king salmon and doing well. I'm going on an exploratory mission alone camping for two days about 75 miles upriver from where we currently are keeping the boats to follow the main run as they near their spawning grounds. Here is the big fish of the week caught by John from South Africa, another beauty caught by Craig, a nice pike caught by craig also on Lake Beverly, and an underwater shot of a fresh king with the purple people eater in mouth.

Late June

Here is a cow moose feeding in a side chanel of the Nushagak River and a day off with the dogs hiking the rock face cliffs off of Tikchik Lake.

Here are some pics from the past couple weeks. One is a fresh sockeye caught in the mouth of Pike Creek in the beautiful Lake Nerka. There were hundreds of sockeye waiting at the mouth of this little creek just getting ready to make their spawning run. The other is a picture of a huge lake trout caught off the dock in front of the Royal Coachman. You don't have to go far to catch big fish!

A grizzly fishing in a local stream

June 24

An awesome arctic char caught at the headwaters of the Nuyakuk in Tikchik Lake. It measured out at 31 inches with a 15 inch girth! Great Local day of fishing with about 20 lakers caught 4 rainbows and a bunch of grayling.
