March 19 Steelhead fishing

Fished the Salmon River and Little Sandy Creek today with Sue and John Doran. The Bite was really tough today but we managed to land two fish and hooked a bunch more we just couldn't hold on to. Sue landed the beauty of the day pictured here. We estimated it at around 18lbs!

March 18 Steelhead fishing Salmon River

Fished again today with Leo and Mike from New Hampshire and did well. We landed seven fish and lost many more. We fished the Sandys the second part of the day and it is starting to clear up a bit finally after nearly a week of high muddy water. Here are some pics from today.

March 17 Steelhead fishing Salmon River

Fished with Mike and Leo today from New Hampshire and did very well. We landed 10 fish and lost many more. The main Salmon River has been tough at times since the Steelhead are more focused on spawing than eating eggs and flies. We have been very mobile trying to find the aggressive fish and with the proper presentation it has payed off. Here are some pics from today

March 13-14 Steelhead on the Salmon River,NY

Fished the past two days with Padraic and Jeff from Massachussetts. The Salmon River has been steadily rising from all the runoff which has affected the fishing a little. The bite was a bit slow but we managed to land six on Friday and four on Saturday with quite a few more lost. The Sandys are high and muddy along with many of the other tributaries but it will bring in many more fresh fish. Here are some pics from the two days

March 7 Steelhead fishing

Fished today with Grant and Steve from New Hampshire. We landed 14 fish and lost lots more in just over three hours! The bite was really on today! Here are some pics from today.

March 2-3 steelhead fishing on the Salmon River and the Sandys

I fished with Joe from Philadelphia the past couple days on the Salmon River and North and South Sandy. The Salmon is still at 285 cfs but producing some great action. Also the Sandys are finally opened and producing fish. Joe landed 14 fish and had over 30 hookups in the two days! The steelhead action is heating up! Here are a few pics from the past two days
