Fished today with Brent from New York City. Today was a beautiful day to be on the water with temps around 75 and the fish were hungry! We landed 12 fish today, mostly steelhead but we landed a couple browns and rainbows also. The drop back season is in full swing! Here are some pics from today...

April 5th Steelhead fishing in Dunkirk NY
Fished Canadaway Creek today with my girlfriend while out visiting my dad for easter. We didn't have any gear and didn't plan on fishing but when we drove over the bridge and saw some fish, we headed home and scrounged up some of my dad's tackle. There was nobody there and the fish were everywhere! We must have landed ten steelhead and lost about twenty in a couple hours. Here are some pics from today...

April 3rd Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River
I floated the Salmon River today with Padraic Kavanaugh in our Watermaster Boats from Skeeters's property down to the Staircase. The fishing was good throughout and we landed five nice fish and lost many more. All dropback steelhead which is, again, very very early for this many dropback fish. It will definitely be an early end to the season.
April 2nd Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River
Fished today with John and John from Orange County NY. We started off on South Sandy and landed 5 fish there and lost a few more. The second part of the day started off slow and then picked up around 3pm on the Salmon River. We ended up landing three more and lost many more. Here are some pics from today....

April 1st Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River
Fished the Upper Fly Zone of the Salmon River today and it was good. There were lots of guys around and the water dropped to 500cfs which didn't help things in the upper river. The fish were spooky but we managed to catch some beauties! We then headed to South Sandy and did well there also. Here are some pics from today
