March 17-18 Steelhead Trip

Fished with Joe that past day and a half. Its been really chilly the past two mornings with lots of slush ice but once the sun warms up the water the bite really takes off. Yesterday and today in the afternoon were really good, lots of good hookups and fish to the net.

So I've been on a bit of a hiatus in Guanaja for the past three weeks chasing bonefish and permit in paradise! On a local note, I was out today for the first time since returning and the fishing was a bit tough but we managed to land three nice steelies and a small brown. The bite has been slow from what everyone is telling me but it won't be long till things really break open.

January 30th Salmon River Steelhead

Did a half day today, and it was a pleasure to get back out, especially on a day like today when the fish are biting and the temps were in the 50s!

Cabo Mexico

I was lucky enough to be invited to Cabo San Lucas this past week for an amazing vacation! We only fished two days this week but did well. We were trying for basically anything willing to bite a fly but I had my heart set on a Roosterfish, even though it wasn't the best time to target them. We did however end up landing three small Roosters. We also caught Dorado, Snapper, and lots of Sierra all on the fly. I almost landed a Sea Lion as well! While I was battling a Sierra, the Sea Lion grabbed it and gave me a hell of a fight before I decided I didn't want to loose my fly line and broke him off!

January 7-9 Salmon River Steelhead

The last few days on the river have been a little tough. We've had slush ice every morning until almost noon which has forced us up river in the morning until it clears. We did have many hookups but had trouble getting most of them to the net. Mostly all chrome fish though which is great to see!

January 4th Salmon River Trip

Had a break in the weather today and hit a good bite on the Salmon River. Lots of chrome bright steelhead hooked and lost one really good brown right at the net.
