This month has been all around great fishing and beautiful weather, up until yesterday anyway. I've been slacking badly on getting a post up and don't have nearly all the pictures of the fish we've been catching but here is a solid taste of what we've been up to....

Mid to late October
The fishing has been less than stellar, certainly not what we are used to for this time of year. The Salmon River has been flowing between 500 and 750cfs which is prime flows but we are just not seeing the numbers of trout, salmon on the other hand have not been an issue. We have had more than enough kings to fish for over the past couple weeks. Hopefully the trout are just late and we'll start seeing more runs of fish soon. Here are some highlights from the last couple weeks.

Mid October on the Salmon River
I got back to NY two and a half weeks ago and I was on a much needed two week vacation after returning from Alaska. I've done four days of guiding this week and the fishing progressively got better every day. A few steelhead and coho are starting to trickle in but we really need some rain to pull more in, its only running 185cfs. And the super tall guy is George Muresan, he's 7'7" and funny as hell, he used to play for the Washington Bullets.
